State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister began her tenure as the new board chair for the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority’s (OETA) Board of Directors today.
Hofmeister was elected as the successor to outgoing board chair Garrett King during the June meeting of the OETA Board. King’s gubernatorial appointment ended June 30, 2019. Hofmeister will serve a one-year term as board chair.
“Serving as the chair of OETA’s Board of Directors is an honor and a privilege,” said Hofmeister. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members as we build upon the important work of OETA to provide educational, high-quality content to Oklahomans and encourage lifelong learning.”
Hofmeister joined the OETA Board of Directors in 2015 as a standing member.
“State Superintendent Hofmeister’s experience and guidance have been invaluable to OETA,” said Polly Anderson, executive director, OETA. “We’re confident that under her leadership, OETA will continue to modernize and produce award-winning content.”
