OETA Sweeps EMMYs with Victories in All Five Nominee Categories

The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) received Emmy Awards for all five of its nominations during the National Academy of Television Arts and Science 38th Annual Heartland Chapter awards ceremony.  The ceremony was held on Saturday, July 20th, at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City. 

This year’s winners from OETA are: 

Robert Reid, David Tamez, Jonathan Thompson, Deonna Marie Cattledge, and Allyssa Jaynes won in the Entertainment – Short Form Content (Up to 15 Minutes) category for the Gallery America segment, “The Deonna Marie Experience.” 

Robert Reid and Jonathan Thompson won in the Human Interest/Nostalgia – Short Form Content (Up to 15 Minutes) category for the Gallery America segment, “Bobby Cornelson.”

Robert Burch, Ryan Lorg, David Tamez, Robert Reid, and Jonathan Thompson won in the Human Interest/Nostalgia – Long Form Content (Longer than 15 Minutes) category for the Back In Time episode, “Digging The Wagon Road.”

Luís Rendon and Brandon Downey won in the Lifestyle/Magazine/Informational/Instructional – Short Form Content (Up to 15 Minutes) category for the digital series “Aquí En Oklahoma.”

Lastly, The Oklahoma News Report team of Rich Lenz, Jason Oden, Steve Shaw, Taelyr Jackson, Randy Hayes, Kallie Langham, Cortrez Colbert, Scott Cassady, and Susan Cadot won Emmys for the year-long series, “Black Frontier Towns.”

Founded in 1947, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Emmy Award stand for the best in the television industry. The National Academy is the only non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievement, raising industry standards, and improving the quality of television. The Heartland chapter was formed in 1986 and serves the television industry in these markets/DMAs: Denver, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Wichita/Hutchinson, Omaha, Colorado Springs/Pueblo, Lincoln/Hastings-Kearney, Topeka, Grand Junction/Montrose, Cheyenne/Scottsbluff, Casper/Riverton and North Platte.
