OETA Wins 2022 Outstanding Achievement Award in Long-Form Programming from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – OETA is proud to announce that their local program "Back in Time" has won the 2022 Outstanding Achievement Award in the category of Long-Form Programming—General from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters. The winning episode, titled "Big Top Town", takes viewers on a journey through the history of circuses in Hugo, Oklahoma.
In "Big Top Town," viewers learn about how the first circus decided to wait out the winter in Hugo, Oklahoma in 1941. Since then, 22 circuses have called Hugo home. The episode captures the excitement and wonder of the circus, as well as the unique culture and community that developed around it. The episode concludes with a visit to "Showman's Rest," a cemetery plot in Hugo where many former circus performers are interred.
