Sweet Smell of Success (1957)

New York City newspaper writer J.J. Hunsecker (Burt Lancaster) holds substantial influence over public opinion but one thing that he can not control is his younger sister, Susan (Susan Harrison). She is in a relationship with aspiring jazz guitarist Steve Dallas (Marty Milner). Hunsecker disproves of the romance and enlists publicist Sidney Falco (Tony Curtis) to find a way to split the couple, no matter how merciless the method.
 



The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965)

Saturday, April 8th at 9pm

From his birth to his death and eventual resurrection, the life of Jesus Christ of Bethlehem (Max von Sydow) is given the all-star treatment in this retelling. Major aspects of Christ's life are touched upon, including the execution of all the newborn males in Egypt by King Herod (Claude Rains), Christ's baptism by John the Baptist (Charlton Heston), and the betrayal by Judas after The Last Supper that eventually leads to Christ's crucifixion and unfathomable return.



The Man in the White Suit (1952)

Saturday, April 15th at 9pm

Chemist Sidney Stratton (Alec Guinness) is at an intersection in his career. He has been trying to invent a specific clothing fiber, but his unreasonable demands for expensive equipment have gotten him fired from job after job. Finally, Sidney creates a white suit that is impenetrable to the elements. At first he is celebrated as a hero. However, the clothing manufacturers soon realize that the perfect suit is terrible for business.

 


 

The Manchurian Candidate (1962)

Saturday, April 22nd at 9pm

Near the end of the Korean War, a platoon of U.S. soldiers is captured and brainwashed. Following the war, the platoon returns home, and Sergeant Raymond Shaw (Laurence Harvey) is highly praised as a hero by the rest of his platoon. However, the platoon commander, Captain Bennett Marco (Frank Sinatra), finds himself plagued by terrible nightmares and, together with fellow soldier Allen Melvin (James Edwards), races to uncover a horrible plot.

 


 

Yours, Mine and Ours (1968)

Saturday, April 29th at 9pm

Navy Officer Frank Beardsley (Henry Fonda) is struggling to raise his 10 children in the wake of his wife's death. He soon begins having a romance with Helen North (Lucille Ball), who is a widowed nurse with 8 children of her own. After learning of their similar situations, the two are reluctant to pursue their relationship further. However, with the help of a mutual friend, Darrel Harrison (Van Johnson), the two eventually fall in love and must decide about forming one big, unconventional family.
