Jerry Mulligan (Gene Kelly) is an American ex-Ground Infantry soldier who stays in post-war Paris to become an artist. He ends up falling for the playful charm of Lise Bouvier (Leslie Caron). Eventually, his paintings come to the attention of Milo Roberts (Nina Foch), a rich American heiress, who is interested in more than just Jerry's art.
The Black Stallion (1979)

Alec (Kelly Reno) encounters a black horse while traveling aboard a steamship around the coast of North Africa with his father (Hoyt Axton). After the ship is destroyed, Alec frees the horse and escapes with it. When Alec is rescued, he insists the horse be rescued too. The boy and the horse eventually make their way back to America, together. From there, Alec and former jockey Henry (Mickey Rooney) work to train the horse for racing.
National Velvet (1944)

When Velvet Brown (Elizabeth Taylor), a 12-year-old living in rural Sussex, becomes the owner of a rowdy horse, she decides to train it to race. Aided by former jockey, Mi Taylor (Mickey Rooney), the determined Velvet gets her horse ready for the big race day. However, a last-minute problem arises with the jockey and an unexpected rider must step in as a replacement.

While Chip hooks up with the sassy cab driver Brunhilde (Betty Garrett) and Ozzie swoons for anthropologist Claire (Ann Miller), Gabey falls in love with an actress he sees in an advertisement, Ivy Smith (Vera-Ellen).
